A deduction is an amount withheld from a paycheck that lowers taxable income. Building and saving deductions (link to how to create a deduction and a deduction set) will prevent you from having to enter deductions every time you want to calculate a paycheck. 

Once you’ve built more than one deduction, you can add them to a deduction set. Deduction sets allow you to group deductions together, so that they all appear in the calculator, saving you time during your calculations.
