States issue to employers a state unemployment insurance (SUI) rate notice each year. If you did not receive a SUI rate notice, contact your state agency responsible for SUI. The amount of state unemployment insurance an employer pays is proportional to the SUI rates they are eligible for. This rate changes depending on the amount the employer pays their employees as well as the number of employees laid off.
